Information about the 9€-Ticket

We have good news for you: the Studierendenwerk has announced that the semester ticket will be valid as a 9-Euro-Ticket. In the upcoming 3 months (June - August), the Thoska (validated with the current semester ticket) can be used as a ticket for local transport throughout Germany. You don't have to do anything else and there are no additional costs.

The local transport in Germany includes in particular the following means of transport: regional trains (among others RB and RE), tram, city and regional bus, S-Bahn, underground.
Not included in the scope of the 9€ ticket is long-distance transport (IC, ICE, EC, Flixtrain, Flixbus and other long-distance buses).

For Ilmenau students, however, there will be no reimbursement of costs, since the semester ticket here currently costs 47.74€ per semester and thus less than 9€ per month.
