Cyberattack disrupts Canadian province's health care systems - report

Provinces Newfoundland and Labrador suffered major cyberattacks October 30 causing regional health systems to shut down and networks to cancel thousands of appointments, BleepingComputer reported.

Though the Canadian govt. or health care providers have not confirmed what type of cyberattack they suffered, sources told BleepingComputer that it is a ransomware attack.

According to BleepingComputer, all computer systems are down and health care workers are using pen and paper to cope. Vaccinations, emergency care and the admission of cases are the only things that can't be rejected and are functioning semi-properly.
