# REMINDER: Work accidents

All of accidents need to be registered as work accidents and reported to the Berufsgenossenschaft.

Only that way the workers get injury pay and the berufsgenossenschaft might do something about it.


Whenever you have a work accident then one of the three following should inform the Berufsgenossenschaft:

a) Company (when they get to know about the accident)
Whenever you inform your company about a work accident its their duty to inform the berufsgenossenschaft.

b) doctors / ambulance / hospital
Whenever you tell doctors that you had a work accident then its their duty to inform the berufsgenossenschaft

c) Worker
If everything fails or to be sure: you should inform the berufsgenossenschaft yourself.


What is a berufsgenossenschaft?:
A worker insurance that every company needs to have. The Berufsgenossenschaft will cover pay for injured workers even after their contract ends. This is called "injury pay". But to get injury pay your work accident has to be registered. Additionally the berufsgenossenschaft should intervene when there are to many accidents at a workplace.
