Adverbs with control

What are they? In German, as you probably know, there are adverbs such as: gern (willingly), wenig (little) - and many, many more.

Just like verbs, some adverbs are used in combination with a certain preposition and with a certain control (case). You have probably seen the phrase "Ich bin stolz darauf..." (I am proud...). So the word stolz (proud, proud) is always used with the preposition auf and has the control in Akkusativ.

What adverbs with control should you know? We have collected some interesting examples for you:

ärgerlich über + Akk. - Angry about something.
Worüber bist du ärgerlich? - What are you angry about / What makes you angry?

bekannt mit / für / bei
Three prepositions at once - let's sort it out. The word bekannt itself means "known, known". So the meaning of the sentence you want to say depends on the preposition, too
Bekannt mit + Dat. - Familiar with someone:
Bist du mit Henry bekannt? - Do you know Henry?
Bekannt bei + Dat. - acquainted among
Er ist bei der Polizei bekannt. - He is known among the police (i.e., he is known as a criminal)
Bekannt für + Akk. - famous/known for some characteristics

And let's end our mini-set on a nice note:
zufrieden mit + Dat. - zufrieden something.
Er war sehr zufrieden mit seinem Leben. - He was very happy with his life
