POLICE OPERATIONS PLANNED

Locations: Melbourne's South-East Suburbs

Police are planning operations under the Control of Weapons Act 1990 in three (3) designated areas within Dandenong, Cranbourne and then Pakenham between 1pm and 9pm each day. Below are the dates for each area.

The attached Gazette notice allows the Police to detain and search any person or vehicle for any reason without a warrant and ask for the person to disclose their identity. A similar operation was performed in Geelong last year where otherwise innocent people were arrested for various reasons due to these additional powers.

Dandenong – 25th November 2021
Cranbourne – 26th November 2021
Pakenham – 27th November 2021
